Andy Shield

Never one to be frightened by a challenge, Andy has carved an exciting career path through the differing disciplines of government, consultancy and private business. His favourite quote rings very true. Whether it is enabling targets that haven’t been hit for the last ten years to be met or creating a vibrant and successful business in six months - he keeps on biting and chewing.
With an early start working for DWP (private office) Andy quickly found his feet in a liaison role helping to disseminate government information in such a way that it could be reassuring but accurate at the same time. An obvious candidate he was promoted to Performance Improvement Manager within the same department – a position he held for the next five years - where he created a new role and one that was subsequently kept after his departure. Utilising his wide range of skills he threw himself whole-heartedly into this challenge with considerable success. He continues to do occasional consultancy work for them today.
He is currently managing director of Red Bullet, a web design agency that he set up last year. Once again he has tackled the role with tremendous enthusiasm and the business is growing rapidly month on month. It has a solid client base; has consistently exceeded every benchmark that has been established for turnover and is now the fastest growing website design company in Kent. He has loved setting up his own business enjoying the buzz of building a business based on his own ethics.
A tremendous track record in his work life, there is a softer side to Andy when not on call. His view of a perfect world is one of collaboration and humanity. He doesn’t work hard in a constant effort to increase wealth but because he genuinely loves it. A competitive man, Andy plays football at home and ran a Sunday League football club for several years until the time commitment of running his own business meant he had to stop. Asked what skills he brought to the football pitch he answered; “Teamwork, motivation, passion, enthusiasm. I am actually a terrible footballer mind you!”
Who has inspired you most? “My father. He is a man of principle. Through his actions he taught me that the following qualities are important throughout life regardless of the scenario:
Trust, Honesty, Loyalty and Hard work;
Four qualities I like to think that I bring to my personal and working life.”
